• ​What makes your candles nontoxic?

We only use components that are verified to be California Prop 65 compliant- that means zero toxins of any kind!

• Are your candles safe to burn around children and pets?

While this truly comes down to your decision, we believe our products are safe to use around all family members!

 

• What ingredients are used in your candles?

Shhhh, we can’t tell! But really, we only use 100% pure soy wax (seriously, there’s ZERO paraffin in our candles!), and tried and tested fragrance oils that are California Prop 65 compliant, with an occasional drop of eco-friendly dyes or micas for specialty candles.

• Do your candles contain paraffin wax or synthetic fragrances?

We wouldn’t burn a candle made of paraffin wax in our home, so we are committed to honoring your home with that same standard- that means zero paraffin wax. While our fragrance is considered synthetic, our suppliers utilize literal scientists to formulate their fragrances to adhere to strict, safe guidelines, backed by testing and verification.

 

• How long do your candles burn compared to regular candles?

On average, our 7oz candles burn for approximately 45 hours, when burned correctly. Our wax melts give an average of 24-36 hours of continuous scent per cube.

• Are your candles made with essential oils or artificial scents?

The short answer- both! We use fragrance oils formulated by candle scientists that contain candle-safe essential oils and safe synthetic fragrance compounds.

• Are your candles eco-friendly?

Yes!

• What kind of wick do your candles have? Is it lead-free?

We use a cotton wick with zero lead, for a safe, clean burn!

• How do I properly care for and maintain your candles for maximum burn time?

To get the most out of your candles, be sure to burn them for 3-4 hours at a time. Any less and your candle could tunnel, leaving lots of wax left over. Any longer and your wick could throw a little soot, and it won’t last as long as it should.

• Can I recycle or reuse your candle jars?

Absolutely! While we don’t recommend reusing your candle jars as a food container, they’re a great option for storing your office supplies!

• Are your candles safe for people with allergies or sensitivities to scents?

While that ultimately comes down to a personal decision, we constantly get feedback from customers with allergies and scent sensitivities that our candles don’t aggravate their sensitivities!

• Do your candles contain any harmful chemicals or VOCs (volatile organic compounds)?

No. And we don’t compromise on this.

• What’s the difference between your nontoxic candles and traditional store-bought candles?

Traditional candles are usually made with paraffin wax (sometimes mixed with other waxes) cheap fragrance oils and cheap dyes, because it’s all about that bottom line! We chose a wax that is typically more difficult to create with, because it has absolutely zero additives. We choose our fragrances based on one thing- is it free from toxins. While market research shows that we should technically charge more for our products, our heart is that every family have access to safe, clean, fun home fragrance products without breaking the bank.

• How do your candles compare to other natural candles on the market?

While we can’t speak to other natural candles on the market, we can speak to ours. We craft each candle by hand, using the best ingredients on the market. We go out of our way to make these products affordable, and we don’t cut corners.

• Are your candles made in small batches or mass-produced?

Every candle, wax melt, room spray and car diffuser is crafted by hand in small batches to ensure you get the best product possible.

• Can I find your candles in stores, or do I need to buy them online?

You can find us in several locations in the Conroe, Texas area! Head to Twisted T Farm in Willis, or stop by Home Market by Amber Alissa in Montgomery for a hands-on experience with our products!

• How do I know if a candle is truly nontoxic or just labeled as such?

Ask a crunchy mom, lol… My rule of thumb is if it’s in a box store (Walmart, Target, etc) it’s probably not the cleanest.

• Do you offer any fragrance-free candles?

We do! We offer a locally sourced beeswax candle that is scent-free!

 

• Are your candles tested for safety and quality before being sold?

Absolutely. We test each and every scent before it makes it to our lineup. If it doesn’t pass muster, we either reformulate it or just say adios.

• Do your candles have a strong scent throw or a subtle aroma?

Most of our candles have a medium scent throw- not too strong, not too weak. There are a few scents on the lighter side, and a few scents on the stronger side, but we like to keep things pretty even!

• Can I use your candles for special occasions or gifting?

We love that idea! There’s just something really special about choosing a gift that’s been locally made, and who doesn’t love a nice candle?!
